Washington, DC is not typically thought of as a romantic getaway destination, but the city offers many lovely spots for weddings, honeymoons and romantic getaways. Chapel Hill, North Carolina is is home to the oldest public university in the country, UNC-Chapel Hill. It opened in 1795 and has grown to particularly excel in medicine, law and athletics. UNC also consistently has one of the best college basketball teams in the country too (Michael Jordan played there from 1981-1984).
