How to Spend 2 Days in Frankfurt, Germany

Frankfurt is nicknamed “Mainhattan,” as the Main River flows through Germany’s financial capital, featuring one of Europe’s most impressive skylines. Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof is Europe’s largest train station and Frankfurt Airport is the fourth busiest on the continent. This makes Frankfurt a gateway to Germany for many visitors. Travelers can easily enjoy 2 days in Frankfurt before moving on to explore elsewhere. Frankfurt is also a great base for day trips to beautiful Heidelberg, Mainz (home to the Gutenberg Museum) or the nearby spa town of Bad Vilbel.

New York City is one of the world’s most exciting cities, but it can also be extreme when it comes to food quality and general experiences. We previously lived in Boston, and currently reside in Washington, DC, so we’ve made many trips to New York City the past several years. New York is around four hours from Boston and Washington, DC by car, train or bus (though we never drive to NYC).
